BEIJING,March17(Xinhua)--TheGlobalCivilizationInitiative,proposedbyChinesePresidentXiJinping,willinjectfreshandstrongenergyintothecommondevelopmentandprogressofhumansocietyinaworldfraughtwithmultiplechallengesandcrises.

ElaboratingonthenewinitiativeattheCPCinDialoguewithWorldPoliticalPartiesHigh-LevelMeetingonWednesday,Xi,alsogeneralsecretaryoftheCommunistPartyofChina(CPC)CentralCommittee,calledforrespectingthediversityofcivilizations,advocatingthecommonvaluesofhumanity,valuingtheinheritanceandinnovationofcivilizations,andstrengtheninginternationalpeople-to-peopleexchangesandcooperation.

TheinitiativeisanothermajorpublicproductprovidedtotheworldbyChinaaftertheGlobalDevelopmentInitiativeandtheGlobalSecurityInitiative,bothputforwardbyXi,in2021and2022,respectively.

Inthehistoryofhumanity,overthousandsofyears,variouscivilizationshavecomeintobeing,developed,andhaveinreturnpromotedtheoveralldevelopmentofhumansociety.Diversityhasbeenaprominentfeatureofcivilizations.

Inspiteofdifferencesinhistories,cultures,politicalsystemsanddevelopmentphases,countriesaroundtheworldsharethecommonaspirationforpeace,development,equity,justice,democracyandfreedom--thecommonvaluesofhumanity.

Peopleneedtokeepanopenmindinappreciatinghowdifferentcivilizationsperceivevalues,andrefrainfromimposingtheirownvaluesormodelsonothers,andfromstokingideologicalconfrontation.

Astheworldisfacingoldandnewchallenges,therearemorereasonsforustopromotedialogueandconsultationwhenaddressinginternationalissues,andtoletculturalexchangestranscendestrangement,mutuallearningtranscendclashes,andcoexistencetranscendfeelingsofsuperiority.

Spanningthousandsofmiles,theancientSilkRoadhasembodiedthespiritofcooperation,mutuallearningandmutualbenefit.Theyear2023marksthe10thanniversaryofChina"sproposaloftheBeltandRoadInitiative(BRI),anotherpublicgoodwhichhasbroughttangiblebenefitstopeopleofparticipatingcountriesandpromotedpeople-to-peopleexchanges.

Thediversityofcivilizationsisinnatureasourceofvitalityandmomentuminhumandevelopment.Promotingpeople-to-peopleexchangesandmutuallearningisofgreatvalueinsummoningtheenormouswisdomandenergyneededtoadvancetheprogressanddevelopmentofhumancivilizations.

TheBRIhasdeliveredfruitfuloutcomesandwonwidespreadsupportandparticipation.Ithascreatedjobs,improvedinfrastructureandpromotedcommondevelopment,especiallyindevelopingcountries.

Securityisthepreconditionfordevelopment.TheGlobalSecurityInitiativecallsforpeacefullyresolvingdifferencesanddisputesbetweencountriesthroughdialogueandconsultation,andsupportingalleffortsconducivetothepeacefulsettlementofcrises.

TherecentSaudiArabia-IrandialogueinBeijingisasuccessfulcaseofthepracticeoftheGlobalSecurityInitiative,leadingtotheresumptionofdiplomatictiesbetweenthetwocountries.

Thefutureofallcountriesarecloselyandincreasinglyconnected.Andtolerance,coexistence,exchangesandmutuallearningamongdifferentcivilizationsplayanirreplaceableroleinadvancinghumanity"smodernizationprocess.

Torealizeaworldwithlastingpeaceandever-improvingwelfare,weshouldembracetheGlobalCivilizationInitiativeanddrawonittojointlycreateabetter,sharedfutureforhumanity.

Asingleflowerdoesnotmakespring,whileonehundredflowersinfullblossombringspringtothegarden.Together,wecanmakethegardenofworldcivilizationsfullofcolorsandlife.
