Positive outlook for Chinese economy in 2023: New Development Bank VP

BEIJING,Jan.18(Xinhua)--China"seconomyhastakentheleadamongmajoreconomiesoverrecentyears,remainingasignificantenginefuelingglobaleconomicgrowth,anofficialwiththecountry"stopeconomicplannersaidWednesday.
From2020to2022,China"seconomypostedanannualaveragegrowthof4.5percent,higherthantheworldlevelofaround2percent,YuanDa,directoroftheDepartmentofNationalEconomyoftheNationalDevelopmentandReformCommission(NDRC),toldapressconference.
TheNationalBureauofStatisticsonTuesdayreportedthatChina"seconomygrew3percenttoarecordhighof121trillionyuan(about18trillionU.S.dollars)in2022.
"Theachievementhasbeenmadeamidrepeatedshocksofmultipleunexpectedfactors,"saidNDRCofficialJinXiandong.
JinnotedthattheincrementofChina"seconomyfrom2021to2022was6.1trillionyuan,whichisalargeamountandequalstheeconomicaggregateofamedium-sizedcountry.
CitingunchangedfundamentalsunderpinningChina"slong-termeconomicgrowthandincreasedpositivefactorspromptingtheoveralleconomicturnaround,YuansaidChinahastheconfidence,conditions,andabilitytofurtherpromoteitsoveralleconomicgrowthin2023.
